Operation Goodcheer Thank You notes!

The children we sponsored during Christmas for Operation Goodcheer have sent us Thank You notes. Please take a look at these notes under the pictures section of the website. The kids were very grateful for what they received. Thanks for your donations!

NEXT GENERAL BODY MEETING

Our next general body meeting will be held on March 12, 2008 in the West Lower Lounge at 7:30. In order to be an outstanding BA, we required that everyone shows up to these meetings. We discuss events that we have scheduled and other things that we are planning. Please be there!

2/24/08: CHOCOLATE PARTY

Chocolate Party was held on February 24, 2008 this year. Ambassadors volunteered at the event to make sure the competition ran smoothly. They also had a chance to taste many varieties of chocolate, cakes and cheesecake throughout the event. Hope everyone had a good time!

2/2/08 & 2/9/08: ADS

A BIG THANK YOU! To everyone who made ADS a successful event once again! We heard great feedback from everyone and we appreciate everyone’s effort! J

1/14/08: Into the Streets

On January 14, 2008, students from all over MSU will be participated in volunteer activities around the community to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. As a group, Briggs Ambassadors volunteered at the Greenhouse and were lucky to be out of the harsh cold. Thank you to those who came out.

1/16/08: First Meeting of the Spring Semester!

Briggs Ambassadors is back in session. Hope everyone had an amazing break! Tours have already started and our first meeting will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 7:30 pm in the West Lower Louge! See you there!

Operation Good Cheer
Our community service event for this semester will be to volunteer our time into Operation Good Cheer. We will be helping make gift baskets, sponsoring children by buying them gifts and wrapping presents to be shipped off to their destinations. Please look out for more information sent by Maggie Anstett.

As a Thank You for all the help, we carved pumpkins and watched Hocus Pocus while enjoying donuts and cider during our General Body Meeting. Thanks for those who carved pumpkins and came out to watch the movie! J

As a social event, we went to the Rowe’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch. Fortunately, everyone made it out alive through the corn maze and enjoyed cider and donuts after. For those who bought a pumpkin, we will be having a pumpkin carving competition at our next meeting!

     Best of Both Worlds was, Friday October 19th. This is a major recruiting event LBC has each semester. We had a great number of tour guides from 12:30-1:30pm as there were approximately 60 visitors that day. We also had Ambassadors serve on a student and parent panel as well as accompany guests during lunch. THANK YOU to all who helped make it a success!

     On October 15^th, we had a group of students from the Traverse City Math/Science Center visit us. We gave them tours of Holmes Hall and Lyman Briggs College

     Well, we are off to a great start with wonderful members, new and old! This year is sure to be a busy one full of tours, volunteering and other great activities.

The Briggs Ambassadors are a student based organization that is very involved in the Briggs community. We volunteer our time to give tours of Holmes Hall and of Lyman Briggs College, we take time to give back to our community, and we spend time getting to know each other and others within the Briggs community; including faculty, staff, and students.
