Scholarship

Late-19th and early-20th century British literature; the philosophy, sociology, and history of science; American Renaissance; science fiction and literary utopias; film theory and history; nonfiction genres; H. G. Wells; the natural environment: perceptions and practices; medicine and the humanities; composition pedagogy.

Publications

Several articles on H. G. Wells, Olaf Stapledon, Arthur C. Clarke, and Edward Bellamy; also pieces on film genre and on the history of hysteria.
