Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University
Community Engagement
As an integral part of the college's mission, Lyman Briggs faculty, staff, and students regularly engage in engagement and public outreach activities throughout the year in the East Lansing area. They also present lectures for the general public and participate in events that are coordinated by professional organizations or disciplinary conferences across the US and internationally. These activities provide a tangible way for LBC to build bridges between science and society, by improving the public understanding of science and encouraging a more diverse cohort of K-12 students to study science.

Faculty collaborating with Undergraduates

LBC faculty members in all disciplines collaborate with LBC undergraduates each year to create educational materials or presentations, test and assess them at outreach events in the East Lansing area, and revise them based on their experiences. Many of the students involved with this work are members of the Briggs Multiracial Alliance or affiliated with the MSU Honors College.
