Kent Workman Named LBC Director of Alumni Relations

Kent Workman

Kent Workman, LBC's Director of Student Affairs, has accepted an offer to be Lyman Briggs College's inaugural Director of Alumni Relations. From now until June 30, 2018 he will also continue to serve in his current position, and after that his work will focus solely on alumni relations.

Kent has spent most of the last 47 years in higher education, as either a student, Hall Director, teacher, advisor, or administrator of one kind or another. Kent has worked at Blackburn College, Tusculum College, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, University of Wisconsin at Rover Falls, Loyola College of Maryland, Allegheny College before coming to Michigan State University in the Fall of 1986. Kent joined Lyman Briggs College in 2004.

As Director of Alumni Relations, Kent will focus on creating a much more robust community of LBC alumni. We have graduates spread around the globe, who are working on every conceivable subject. It is time for us to begin connecting with them, because they ought to know more about what their college is doing and we need to know more about them.

Kent will officially begin in the role on November 1.
